Michele Etzel, CPA
Michele Etzel, CPA, EA and Founder of Bayside Accounting Services, is passionate about helping small businesses work smarter when it comes to their QuickBooks software and accounting processes. As an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, she’s often called in to troubleshoot QuickBooks problems, set up and customize QuickBooks for a small business, or train employees and owners on QuickBooks features. With 20 years accounting experience, Michele also offers tax preparation and outsourced accounting services.
Michele enjoys showing clients how to make the most out of their QuickBooks software so they can save time, save money, get better information, or simplify a process. Examples of recent engagements include implementing job cost benchmarks for a contractor so he could better measure his company’s performance, uncovering substantial billing errors for an automotive business that boosted income, and creating location-based income statements for a retailer so they could track store performance. In addition to retail, automotive, and construction, Michele has served clients in insurance, daycare, technology, health care, transportation, and many more industries.

Prior to starting Bayside Accounting Services in 2007, Michele spent time as an accountant for small businesses in transportation, construction, and health care. She started her career in public accounting at one of the “Big Four” accounting firms, Ernst and Young, where she also gained audit experience. She is currently a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals, the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, and the Southern Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce.
Michele graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore. At her home in Churchton, Maryland, she, her husband, and her three children take care of their very own menagerie: two dogs, one cat, one rabbit, and two parrots.
