We understand that you will have many questions. Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive.

What Are Your Hours?

Normal hours of operation are Monday – Friday 9 am – 5 pm. Meetings are by appointment only. You can schedule a meeting conveniently from our website or Facebook page or by phone.

Do I Need Bookkeeping?

Bookkeeping is important for several reasons. First, complete bookkeeping is an essential tool used for your businesses tax preparation. Accurate records of income and expenses ensure that you are getting every possible tax deduction and that taxes are calculated only on your true net income. Accurate bookkeeping is also essential for monitoring how well your business is performing. It allows you to track how much your business earns and what you spend your money on. This information is vital for setting future goals for profitability and/or sales. Having an accurate set of financials available quickly is imperative when attempting to secure business loans or establish business credit. In the event of an IRS audit, bookkeeping can be well worth the expense as IRS requires accurate financial records to be maintained. One last reason, by freeing up time you would spend trying to put together your financials will allow you to concentrate on running your business.

Do I Need Payroll?

If you are incorporated as an S Corporation, the IRS requires you to pay yourself a “reasonable salary” via payroll. If you have employees, you are responsible for deducting payroll taxes based on wages earned. These taxes are required to be paid to IRS and State agencies on a periodic basis. Additionally, agency payroll reports are required to be filed quarterly and annually. Payroll processing is time consuming and often confusing. Outsourcing payroll frees your time and erases worries about maintaining compliance with ever changing rules associated with payroll.

How Will I Be Billed?

We will start the process with a consultation and communications as we get to know each other and ensure a great fit before any billing takes place. Once you have decided on the core package and add-on services that are right for you, we will send you a Credit Card Authorization Form and Accounting Services Contract. Once you have completed these documents, your bank account will be debited each month at the agreed upon rate. This debit will automatically recur on the 1st each month with no further action needed.

How Do I Receive My Documents?

We understand how important it is that you have access to all your financial information whenever needed so each plan comes with unlimited access to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) file. QBO has a wide variety of reports that you can run anytime. Additionally, our staff will send you monthly financial statements direct to your email on a recurring schedule.

Once your tax returns are complete and approved, our office with share a digital copy of your returns with detailed instructions on how to make payments along with copies of the payment vouchers.

Can You Help Me with IRS Notices?

With the Audit Defense add on service, we will respond or assist with a response to any notices from the IRS in relation to work we have performed, at no additional cost. However, if you receive a notice relating to work that we did not perform for you, we can assist at our normal hourly rate.

How Do I Communicate With You?

Each core package includes limited email communication with our staff. This means is that one time per month you can email with your accounting team any questions or concerns you have regarding your financials or tax situation. If you require more frequent advice, we suggest adding the Unlimited Support option to your Package. With this add on you get unlimited email, phone and meeting support.

Additionally, our team will meet twice a year to review all aspects of your business from top to bottom. The purpose of these Financial Review Board meetings is to focus on any improvements or recommendations we can make to help you and your business. A summary of the meeting and recommendations will be provided to you in written format.

Is Software Included?

We work exclusively with QuickBooks Online to provide your bookkeeping services. The monthly subscription fee is not included with the packages but can be added. We provide the subscription at a discounted rate as long as you are our client.

Will My Tax Returns Be e-Filed?

Yes. In most cases, we will e-file all tax returns. If paper filing is necessary for any reason, we will notify you and hard copies If for any reason we need to paper file, we will notify you of this and hard copies with instructions will be mailed to you or made available for pick up from our office.

Will You Come to My Office?

To keep our costs low, we perform all of our services our office. We work persistently to make sure information passes smoothly between us and our clients. We have streamlined the way we perform your bookkeeping payroll and tax work including email, our document portal, and QuickBooks Online. These processes are designed to be simple for our clients.

If you feel an on-site meeting is required, we can arrange that. Additional fees will apply.

While we have a strong local client base, much of our business comes from outside of our local area. Communication is the key to our success in working with out of the area clients. By utilizing the latest technology and focusing on exceptional client service, we have developed systems that work whether you are right next store or across the country.

Does A CPA Review Everything?

Yes. Our bookkeeping and tax preparation staff will be involved in the day to day bookkeeping services and tax preparation tasks so as a client, you will have a close relationship with these staff members. Before any work is submitted to you, it is all sent to Michele Etzel, CPA for review.
